Deaf Friendly Sports Available in Peterborough

Football

Peterborough United Deaf football teams play in the local Peterborough Futsal League against mainstream opposition and enter teams into national deaf competitions. If you’re interested in getting involved, please email andyp@cambsdeaf.org

Deaf Adult deaf football training takes place on Tuesday nights at Peterborough United’s training facility at Nene Park Academy in Peterborough at 7.30pm. @The Mick George Training Academy, all players are welcome. No dates for training are yet planned and will be announced soon. Training is led by former Great Britain Manager Phillip Gardner. Contact andyp@cambsdeaf.org

Basketball

Cycling

Deaf Friendly cycling available with Thorpe Venture Community Cycling club every Saturday morning 9.30-11.30am @Jack Hunt School All levels of ability welcome, bike and helmet supplied if needed contact Steve tvcyclingclub@thorpe-ventures.com

Tennis

Deaf Tennis taster coaching session at City of Peterborough Tennis Club (inspire2coach) start on Tuesday 15th May 2.30-3.30, beginners welcome, will organise BSL interpreter if there is a group that want to go along contact Rebecca – Rebecca.evans@livingsport.co.uk to book place

Running

Deaf Friendly running available on the @Embankment athletic track on the first and third Wednesday evening of the month from 7-8pm, go down this Wednesday 16th May. Beginners welcome, cost £1 per person per session. Coaches are deaf friendly and have basic BSL and experience of coaching deaf runners. Peterborough Park Run welcomes deaf runners why not try a 5k out this Saturday morning @Nene Park (Ferry Meadows) if you would like support at the event contact Tim Cook tim30dstj@aol.com to let them know you are coming down.

Gym sessions

Vivacity Sport are running introduction to the Gym session with BSL interpreter during Deaf Awareness Week at @Regional Fitness and Swimming pool Monday 14th  9:30-11:30 / Tuesday 15th 9-11am / Friday 18th 5-7pm will include a tour of facilities and  chance to talk about getting membership.
