Inclusive Ice Skating

inclusive skating peterborough

Inclusive Skating sessions are aimed at families with a member who has a disability, life limiting condition and/or additional need, to come along, have fun and play on the ice together. Inclusive Skating’s ethos is that everybody should be able to attend, regardless of ability.

At Inclusive Skating you can come along and play, and learn to skate!

Sessions take place at Planet Ice on Mallard Road, North Bretton from 6.30pm – 7.30pm. Parking is around the back of the building and is there is a £1 charge.

Please visit our event page for more information and how to book.

With thanks to Comic Relief Red Nose Day Community Cash and Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, Inclusive Skating sessions began at Planet Ice Peterborough on 5th June 2015. Inclusive Ice Skating was the idea of Ice Skating Coach and Inspire Peterborough Marketing and Events Officer Gail Howard, and Calum Titmus Special Olympic Figure Skating champion. Calum is autistic with severe learning difficulties, difficulty in communicating with others, epilepsy and a mental health condition.

One of the many fabulous reviews of Inclusive Skating: “Inspire Peterborough is fab. It gives so many people of various ages and ability the chance to experience the ice. I started taking my two daughters skating and they loved it, but what made it even more special was seeing my 42 year old brothers face the first time I took him. As he is blind and confined to a wheelchair he would never have got this opportunity if it wasn’t for the wonderful team at inspire!!”
