Walks on Wednesday

Get in Touch:

On 13th April the Walks on Wednesday returned to Nene Park (Ferry Meadows) at 10am as part of the Inspire Peterborough Sport England Inclusive Fund programme. The programme of walks runs over 10 weeks, until 22nd June, and is open to anybody who would like to take part.

The walks were first started in 2014 and were a joint venture between Peterborough City College, Inspire Peterborough, Mind and Age UK, and proved to be incredibly popular with people of all ages and abilities. Peterborough City College provide trained walk leaders who lead groups of people around an agreed route of the park.

Our enthusiastic Walk Leaders have just received training from Inspire Peterborough and Nene Park Trust and they love to be out in the fresh air, chatting to participants. The walk is followed by a hot drink and a cake and a chance to get to know your fellow walkers in the warmth of the Visitors Centre Cafe.

Anyone wishing to take part should meet at the Visitors Centre at 10am and complete a quick one time registration form before setting off for the walk. Enquiries to inspire@disabilitypeterborough.org.
