Volunteer Walks Last Session 6 August 14

Age UK Peterborough has been working with the Inspire Peterboroug team, Nene Park Trust, Peterborough City College, Peterborough and Fenland Mind and the Alzheimer’s Society to provide opportunities for people, who currently struggle to access green spaces, to take part in a series of guided walks at Ferry Meadows.

There is a growing body of evidence that shows access to the natural environment improves health and wellbeing, prevents disease and helps people recover from illness. Walking with a group can also help people who have become isolated, for health or other reasons, to socialise and meet new people, in turn building their self-confidence.
